About

GameDefender started way back when I was working for a New York City “child services” organization that shall remain nameless.  As an avid gamer, back in the day, I found myself defending my love of games from people who thought games were too violent, made you stupid, or gave you athlete’s foot.

Well, my interest in gaming hasn’t been what it used to be (a story saved for another blog) but I kept the domain.  Anyhow, it was just sitting there, and I decided to put it to some use.

And here you are…

Who is Alex guy anyway?

Alexander Sapountzis (pronounced: SAH POON ZEES) is a New York City native with an interest in art, science and geek culture.  While all fanboys and geeks tend to be very outspoken and obsessive in their beliefs, he is able to construct arguments that actually have an objective point.

As for the boring details; Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science obtained (read: fought tooth and nail) from New York City’s Pace University.  He is self-taught in web design, creative writing and cartooning.  He enjoys long walks on the beach with that special someone, and can bake a mean sweet potato pie. Take it from me, I should know. In case you haven’t realized, I’m him!
