Star Wars: Lethal Alliance

Got a boring game? No worries, slap a licensed character on it and you’re good.

The just signed up for GameFly.  I know, I’m late to the game, but I’m a survivor of the dot com era, so I’m reluctant to jump onto anything new.  Early adopters tend to get pwned in my opinion.  Sorry guys, you’re just paying to be a beta tester.

Bad URL in Elgg 1.2 full distro

Just tried to “upgrade” an elgg site for an upcoming project, and found an interesting bug.

The full distro (engine + plugins) and the installation script screws up after the point where you enter your database information. There seems to be a typo in the url redirect:

tries to go to home/action/systemsetting/install

when that directory is actially actions

when I fix the typo in the URL, i get a php error

To fix, I tried the core version, which worked out just right. The downside, is I need to manually install the base plugins, but at least it works.

A Review of “The Twelve”

For those that don’t know, J. Michael Straczynski, is the man and can never do wrong by me.  His run on Spider-man brought me back to comics with tears of Joy.  I say without a doubt that Babylon 5 was one of the most revolutionary shows of it’s time.  Jeremiah was a deeply moving show.  Etcetera, etcetera.

In short, anytime he puts his pen to paper, it’s gold.  I have yet to see Changeling, but I heard it was produced with only a first draft from JMS, which to me is quite a remarkable achievement.

OK, fanboy moment is over.  Onto the topic at hand; The Twelve.
